Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position offers the opportunity to serve K-8 students in a self-contained special education setting within a K-12 school environment in Waterville, ME. The focus is on supporting students social, emotional, and academic development, fostering skills that empower them to succeed in regular education classrooms. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the individual needs of students with disabilities. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families, administration, and service providers. Supervise and support education technicians assigned to the classroom. Monitor student progress, adjusting strategies to address social, emotional, and academic growth. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and personal development. Qualifications: State of Maine Special Education Certification (282) required. Experience working in self-contained special education programs preferred. Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and families. Knowledge of best practices in social-emotional learning and academic interventions. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic school setting. Position Details: Location: Waterville, ME Setting: K-12 school, self-contained K-8 classroom Contract duration: Current School Year (CSY) through End of School Year (EOSY) Work schedule: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week Start date: ASAP Age group served: Kindergarten through 8th grade This role supports meaningful student growth and requires a dedicated professional passionate about special education.
