Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support K-8 students in a self-contained program designed to address their social, emotional, and academic needs. The program aims to equip students with coping strategies and skills to thrive in a regular education classroom environment. Location: Hampden, ME Setting: K-12 School Duration: Contract (CSY) Start Date: ASAP End Date: End of School Year (EOSY) Hours: 37.5 per week Days: 5 per week Age Group: K-8 Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students social, emotional, and academic goals Collaborate closely with educational technicians, administration, service providers, and families to create a supportive learning environment Supervise education technicians to ensure effective support for student learning Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed to foster success Facilitate skill development that enables students to transition to regular education classrooms Required Credentials: Valid State of Maine Teaching Certification (282) in Special Education This role requires a dedicated educator who is skilled in creating a nurturing and structured classroom environment that meets diverse student needs.
