Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher position is available at a middle school in Homer Glen, IL. This contract role is scheduled to begin as soon as possible and will continue through June 4, 2026. The position involves a co-teaching caseload primarily focused on English Language Arts and Math for approximately 10 students in a 7th/8th grade setting. Responsibilities include: Collaborating with general education teachers to provide tailored support for students with special needs Implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) in a co-teaching environment Monitoring student progress and adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs Maintaining accurate documentation and communicating effectively with parents and staff Participating in team meetings and professional development activities Desired qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience working with middle school students in inclusive or co-teaching settings Strong knowledge of special education practices and legal requirements Ability to develop and implement instructional strategies that support students with varying disabilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills This role involves a 35-hour workweek within one building.
