Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in Aurora, IL. This is a contract position for the current school year, starting ASAP and ending on June 4, 2026. The role offers approximately 35 hours per week within a single building, working primarily with 7th and 8th graders. Responsibilities include co-teaching with general education teachers in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math classrooms. The caseload consists of about 10 students who require specialized instruction and accommodations to meet Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. This position will play a vital role in fostering an inclusive classroom environment and ensuring academic progress for all learners. Key Qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience co-teaching in middle school settings, preferably in ELA and Math subjects Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with general education teachers and support staff Commitment to creating differentiated lessons that promote student engagement and success Location: Aurora, IL Position Type: Contract, Current School Year Schedule: Approximately 35 hours per week Caseload: About 10 students in 7th/8th grade This role is ideal for a dedicated special education professional passionate about making a difference in students academic and personal growth.
