Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school district in New Haven, CT, is seeking two dedicated Special Education Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time contract opportunity, running from ASAP through June 2026, supports middle school students in a dynamic educational environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver individualized instruction and support to students with diverse special education needs. Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to develop and implement effective educational plans. Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies to meet varied learning goals. Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with families and school personnel. Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes growth and success for each student. Desired Qualifications: Prior experience working as a Special Education Teacher in a middle school setting. Strong understanding of various disabilities, including autism, and experience adapting teaching methods accordingly. Ability to handle a flexible caseload without specific assignments. Effective communication and collaboration skills. Certification in special education aligned with state requirements. Location: New Haven, CT Schedule & Duration: Full time, 32.5 to 35 hours per week. Contract position through June 2026.
