Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This full-time special education teaching position offers an opportunity to support middle school students during the 2025-2026 school year in the Waterbury, CT area. The contract runs from ASAP through June 2026, providing a structured school calendar year schedule with approximately 32.5 to 35 hours per week. Responsibilities include: Delivering tailored instruction and support to middle school students with diverse special education needs Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to implement individualized education programs (IEPs) Managing and adapting classroom activities to support learners with a variety of challenges, although no specific caseload (e.g., Autism) is assigned Maintaining accurate records and communicating progress with families and the educational team Ensuring a positive, inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth Preferred qualifications and experience: Previous experience working in a K-12 school setting, ideally with middle school students Valid special education teaching certification or licensure Strong classroom management and differentiated instruction skills Ability to work effectively with students who have diverse learning needs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Benefits of this contract position include a consistent full-time schedule within a dedicated school environment, allowing you to make a meaningful impact on students academic and personal development.
