Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Seeking a Special Education Teacher to support K-12 students in a dynamic school setting located in Accomac, VA. This contract position is for the current school year and offers the opportunity to work closely with diverse learners across elementary and middle school levels. Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in both inclusion and self-contained classroom settings. Manage average caseloads of approximately 15 students in elementary and middle school inclusion classrooms. Provide targeted instruction for an average of 8 students in an elementary self-contained classroom. Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote academic progress and social development. Track student performance, maintain accurate records, and participate in ongoing assessment and reporting. Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching certification. Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings, including elementary and middle school levels. Proven ability to manage caseloads effectively and create engaging curriculum tailored to individual needs. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Commitment to fostering inclusive education and supporting student success.
