Position Description
Immediately hiring a permanent full‑time mid‑level diesel technician to support our truck fleet at Ryder in Princeton, Indiana.

We want the right maintenance repair mechanic to join us at Ryder to work on heavy‑duty vehicles.
Salary and Bonuses
Hourly pay: $24.00 per hour
Certification bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, first shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or technical post‑secondary degree or certifications preferred
Basic tools required
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake & tire work)
Two or more years of classroom training and work experience preferred
Valid commercial driver license (CDL) Class A preferred
This position requires you to drive Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee:
Must obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
Pass a Ryder drug test
Pass a DOT physical
Pass a Ryder road test
Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor‑vehicle records check, a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
Perform standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
Perform preventive maintenance
Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable
Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
Replace defective components as instructed
Perform facility maintenance duties
Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation
Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
Perform other support duties as required, e.g., Service Island support
