Mayfield Country Club is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lead Assistant Golf Professional to join our team. This individual will work closely with the Head Golf Professional to ensure the highest standards of service, efficiency, and member satisfaction across all areas of the golf operation.
The Lead Assistant Golf Professional manages all aspects of the club's golf operation. This includes the pro shop, outside services, merchandising, as well as instructional programming. The Lead Assistant Golf Professional will be expected to help drive all areas of the golf operation to success.
Experience Required
Level 3 associate or higher required (in good standing).
Have at least a Bachelor's Degree.
Minimum of 3-5 years experience as an Assistant Golf Professional.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet the club's and its members' needs.
Able to demonstrate leadership capabilities with experience managing and motivating staff.
Proficiency in Golf Genius Tournament Software, Golf Genius Golf Shop Software, ForeTees, and Jonas POS systems.
Experience teaching private lessons, clinics and conducting club fittings.
Strong tournament management skills with experience in running large tournaments.
Strong playing ability and commitment to playing with members.
Essential Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:
Manage the daily golf operations in the absence of the Head Professional, ensuring the highest standards of member service.
Tournament Management:
Lead the execution of a robust member tournament calendar, utilizing Golf Genius software to provide a professional experience. This includes pre-tournament planning, coordination with staff, and on‑the‑day management to ensure seamless operations.
Merchandising:
Act as a lead for the Golf Shop, assisting with buying, vendor relations, floor displays, and inventory management. Utilize Golf Genius Golf Shop.
Staff Mentorship:
Assist in the hiring, training, and scheduling of the 2nd Assistant, outside service staff and golf shop staff.
Player Development:
Lead the club's Junior Golf program and offer high-level individual and group instruction.
Member Relations:
Maintain a high‑profile presence on the "front lines," anticipating member needs and fostering a welcoming culture.
Course Management:
Aid in starting, pace of play management, and ensure all daily operations on the course run smoothly.
