Powder Booth Operator

This role involves operating powder coating equipment to apply high-quality finishes to various parts, while maintaining strict quality standards and adhering to production schedules. The ideal candidate will ensure consistent coating coverage, perform equipment maintenance, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Responsibilities
Operate manual and automated powder-coating equipment to paint parts according to specifications.
Maintain production standards, including line speed, film thickness, coverage, and cure requirement.
Set and adjust paint parameters to achieve optimal coating coverage and curing in accordance with the established schedule.
Conduct visual inspections of parts during loading and unloading processes
Identify quality issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain coating standards.
Ensure all finished products meet company quality specifications
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on powder coating equipment
Clean washers, ovens, and powder booths to prevent cross-contamination
Execute proper lockout/tagout procedures when required
Maintain inventory levels of powder materials and parts using the Kan Ban system
Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe at all times
Properly dispose of scrap and waste materials in designated containers
Complete accurate production documentation and tickets
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to lift and push materials weighing up to 50+ pounds
Capability to work above shoulder level for extended periods
Must be able to stand for a minimum of 10 hours per shift
Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
Good vision for quality inspection tasks
Experience with manual and automatic powder coating systems preferred
Ability to operate material handling equipment (carts, tram wagons)
Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance
Proficient writing skills for completing production documentation
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with some dust present
Ability to work in a climate-controlled facility (maintained at 75°F)
Comfortable working on concrete floors for extended periods
Maintain professional interactions with all team members
Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
Demonstrate reliability and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Safety Equipment & Tools The position requires the use of safety goggles, protective gloves, safety shoes, hand tools, squeegees, air hoses, brooms, and material handling equipment.
Manufacturing facility with climate control, some dust exposure, and concrete flooring. Lockout/tagout training will be provided.
1st Shift Hours: Tuesday through Saturday (5:00 am - 5:00 pm).
