Lead, Digital Strategic Initiatives (Temporary)
Compensation:
$120,000 - $140,000 / year

Position Type:
Temporary, four‑year grant‑funded
A four‑year, grant‑funded temporary role at NYPL that requires on‑site work in NYC three days a week.
Overview The New York Public Library, the nation's largest neighborhood public library system, has been an essential provider of free books, information, ideas, and education for more than 125 years. This position supports the Digital Department’s initiatives, driving strategic projects, enabling alignment, and managing risk.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a trusted partner and project manager to the Chief of Staff, ensuring strategic priorities are executed with speed and accountability.
Support executive functions, managing the full life cycle of Digital Library Committee preparations and post‑meeting follow‑up.
Plan and orchestrate leadership and team off‑sites, Town Halls and All‑Hands meetings to foster collaboration and employee experience.
Define and implement robust risk‑management frameworks, collaborating with Legal and HR.
Develop streamlined operational processes for staff development, interviewing and onboarding.
Collect, synthesize, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to provide actionable insights to the Digital Leadership Team.
Lead high‑priority, cross‑functional special projects requiring executive oversight.
Perform other related duties as required.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor’s degree required.
7+ years of experience, including 3+ years developing and presenting to senior‑level executives.
Experience in strategy or management consulting, strategic operations, or program management, preferably with technology/digital product teams.
Direct experience using Generative AI tools and knowledge of the GenAI industry landscape.
Familiarity with digital product development lifecycles and risk‑management frameworks.
Strong stakeholder management and executive‑level communication skills.
Proven ability to design and facilitate strategy sessions or off‑sites.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate complex concepts for technical and non‑technical audiences.
Self‑motivated, proactive, and adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Additional Information Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9‑5; hybrid (3 days onsite in NYC).
