Compensation $100,000 - $110,000 per year (four‑year fixed‑term grant‑funded). Hybrid: 3 days in office at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, NYC.
Department & Location Department: Digital. Location: Stephen A. Schwarzman Building.
Description This temporary, four‑year grant‑funded position is hybrid. The Technical Project Manager will lead the institutional services team responsible for building applications that support digital library cards, educational services, and single sign‑on for patrons. The role requires driving clarity from ambiguity, proactively mitigating risks, and fostering consensus across cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end product development processes from inception through delivery.
Own end‑to‑end planning and coordination of strategic projects across development teams and working groups.
Develop communication plans, timelines, and project status reports for internal and vendor teams.
Coordinate and lead scrum ceremonies, focusing on team process and rapid product development.
Identify project risks and issues, mitigate and report them.
Support annual and quarterly road‑mapping for the Institutional Services team.
Oversee partner vendors or agencies involved in project delivery.
Manage progress tracking of goals, adjusting processes and plans as needed.
Document and report project deliverables and milestones.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of experience managing software and/or web application development projects as a project manager/technical project manager.
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred (PgMP not required).
5 years experience in project or program management with software and web application development teams.
Required Skills
Develop and manage project timelines, escalating risks and dependencies.
Proactively identify problems and propose solutions.
Operate strategically and tactically, collaboratively and independently.
Drive highly visible projects with cross‑functional teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication and strong presentation skills.
Demonstrated experience as Scrum Master, leading engineers, designers, and QA.
Experience managing external vendors, consultancies, or agency teams.
Understanding of backend and frontend technologies.
Curiosity and interest in emerging technologies, especially AI.
