JOB DETAILS The MEP Project Manager develops, coordinates, implements, and manages all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing facets necessary to construct the project on time, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction. The PM provides leadership and serves as the liaison between project team members and the client to promote the interests of both the company and the client. The PM is the primary leader for the construction project and is charged with utilizing their experience and knowledge to make expeditious decisions, model efficiency, and run projects efficiently.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Administer the project safety program
Ensure superintendents have the necessary trades, materials, and equipment available to efficiently construct the project
Oversee subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, etc., to support project schedule delivery and scope of work commitments
Perform and oversee project‑specific QA/QC practices to ensure delivery to project specifications and quality standards
Complete and communicate daily reports of activities scheduled and completed, along with other communications regarding the project’s progress to all stakeholders
Conduct walk‑throughs of the site to ensure safety, cleanliness, and standards are maintained
Identify and resolve field and design issues
Lead meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns
Represent the site team in owners’ meetings
Develop and maintain the site logistics plan in conjunction with the General Superintendent
Develop scopes of work for each subcontractor
Perform constructability reviews
Arrange and lead preconstruction meetings with all subcontractors prior to beginning each project phase
Track field progress against the plan, assist in developing recovery plans if necessary
Participate in ensuring quality control aligns with the established project quality assurance program
Schedule and lead the project close‑out process
Coordinate punch list items and procedures
Manage the project permit process
Participate in developing strategic plans including VDC
Demonstrate Core Values and Principles; follow the Code of Conduct
Take responsibility for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work in accordance with established Safety Procedures and Work Practices
Report all incidents, near‑hits, and hazards to management
Require wear and maintain personal PPE; advise employees of hazardous situations
Participate in workplace inspections and required training; provide suggestions to improve Safety
Present a mature approach to working safely and attend pre‑start and Safety meetings
Assist in administering the site safety program and ensuring trade partner compliance with OSHA standards and site requirements
Perform other related duties as assigned by Management to support successful project completion
QUALIFICATIONS
Undergraduate degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field (preferred)
Other relevant education, training, or work experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 5 years Construction Management experience
Experience managing trades valued at $50 million
Experience with large/complex safety plan implementation
PMP certification preferred
REQUIREMENTS
Strong working knowledge of Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project
Proven track record of organizing project teams to accomplish project goals
Effective negotiation and contract management skills to represent the company with the client
Experience managing a project using established methods of cost reporting (cash flow, safety, cost, schedule, VDC)
Extensive knowledge of all facets of construction
Understanding of contract types and terms (General Conditions, Burn Rates, Fee Analysis)
Knowledge of insurance programs (SDI, BR policies, OCIP, CCIP)
Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
Strong prioritization, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Technically astute and strategic thinker
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently, multi‑task, and adapt in a fast‑paced environment
Business acumen, adaptability, critical thinking, decision making, strategy, collaboration, financial acumen, time management
