Hydraulic Mechanic
New Iberia, LA. Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Hydraulic Mechanic to join our team. This position will average 40–45 hours per week and will be based in the shop, with offshore work required as needed. Shop hours are 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (½ hour lunch). Candidates must pass a background check and drug screen. Forklift and overhead crane operation are required, with in‑house training and certification provided. Essential Duties
Rig up/down, operate, repair, and troubleshoot offshore OEM equipment including hydraulic power units, winches, pumps, controls, launch/recovery systems, and related equipment. Maintain and test offshore equipment for operational readiness and immediate deployment. Direct or perform assembly, installation, operation, and rig down of equipment at customer request. Accurately document daily activities, equipment usage, and maintenance performed. Recommend critical spare parts for customer operations. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. Participate in safety meetings, follow JSA/JHA processes, and maintain high standards of housekeeping. Report incidents, hazards, or abnormal situations to supervisors promptly. Perform additional duties as assigned by Service/Operations Manager. Requirements/Skills
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 2 years of mechanical/hydraulic experience, preferably in the oil & gas industry. Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, including troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and apply Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience using inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) and general hand tools (must provide own tools). Some PLC knowledge preferred. Familiarity with ISO 9001 and API Q1 standards is a plus. Offshore experience and coil/wireline operations background preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Self‑motivated with ability to work independently in both shop and offshore environments. Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, bend, and work in physically demanding conditions for extended periods. Willingness to work offshore as needed. Equal Opportunity Statement
