Quality Assurance/Product Development
New Orleans, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Quality and Product Development professional.
Essential Duties:
Daily test preparation and testing of spices and various dry food ingredients, including sensory evaluation
Entering data into spreadsheets
Performing repetitive testing with precision
Accurate handling of data and samples
Conducting plant inspections, product inspections, and sampling
Preparing product development samples
Testing of incoming and finished goods
Participating in food safety training and meetings
Coordinating with the production team regarding food safety and quality concerns
Shadowing current QA personnel to cross-train on QA lab responsibilities
Maintaining awareness of allergens processed in the facility (wheat, soy, milk, egg)
Requirements/Skills:
College-level science degree or laboratory work experience
HACCP certification preferred; knowledgeable of FSMA
Previous laboratory experience preferred
No wheat, soy, egg, or milk allergies
Good oral and written communication skills
Strong reliability, promptness, and work ethic
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Availability Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime including nights or Saturdays
Physical Requirements:
Standing for long periods in a laboratory environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
