Role Summary
The Phlebotomist / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is the front-facing representative for patients receiving diagnostic services. This role is responsible for performing high-quality blood collection and specimen processing while ensuring patient comfort, confidentiality, and accuracy.
The PSR I demonstrates professionalism and leadership behaviors while working independently in a fast-paced clinical environment. This position plays a key role in creating a trusting and positive patient experience while maintaining strict adherence to established procedures.

Key Responsibilities
* Perform clinical and forensic blood specimen collection and processing
* Draw blood safely and accurately, including pediatric and geriatric collections
* Prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established protocols
* Maintain accurate records and required documentation
* Ensure a safe, professional, and patient-centered environment
* Explain procedures clearly to patients to promote confidence and trust
* Work independently with minimal on-site supervision
* Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public

Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills:
* Strong phlebotomy skills , including pediatric and geriatric collections
* Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Keyboarding and data entry proficiency
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Skills:
* Medical assistant or paramedic training
* One or more years of phlebotomy experience
* Customer service experience in a retail or service environment

Education & Experience
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
* Certification:
* NY State Phlebotomy Certificate required
* Phlebotomy certification also required in CA, NV, and WA
* Experience:
* Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience required
* 1+ year of experience preferred
