Responsibilities The RN is responsible for performing intake assessments, crisis intervention and providing information about the hospital’s services to patients. The RN also provides referrals to community resources for patients who do not meet admission criteria, ensuring continuity of care, and assists with call center functions and other duties to support the needs of the Psych E.D.
Qualifications Education:
Master’s Degree in a human relations field or Registered Nurse.
Experience:
Preferably two or more years of intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting, and a minimum of two (2) years in a psychiatric hospital setting including customer contact and crisis intervention.
Licensure:
Licensed to practice in the State of Texas as a mental health professional (LPC, LPC‑Intern, LMSW, LCSW) or RN.
Additional Requirements:
Working knowledge of the DSM‑V and the Mental Status Exam, knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field, completion of Handle With Care Training within 90 days of employment, current CPR Certification, and availability for occasional overtime and flexible hours.
