Schedule: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Responsible for accomplishing corrective and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of equipment and systems. Builds a positive customer‑service relationship, performs duties across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, Fire Alarm, pneumatic tube, physical‑plant equipment, carpentry, and other assigned responsibilities. Applies solid knowledge and troubleshooting skills, assists colleagues with repairs, and ensures progress of assigned jobs under general supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Obtain a GED within 6 months of hire; High‑School graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Two years in the maintenance field; preferred experience in a health‑care environment.

Licensure / Certification N/A

Knowledge / Skills Proficient with hand and power tools; strong knowledge of maintenance disciplines. Prefer familiarity with health‑care DHEC, NFPA, and TJC code requirements. Must be computer literate to complete work orders and preventative maintenance in the maintenance software system.

Contact Interaction Engage with internal and external customers, including patients, families, physicians, employees, and visitors.

Work Demands / Environment Constant standing, walking, and heavy physical effort (lifting, moving, or carrying up to 60 lbs). Requires finger/hand dexterity, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Exposure to wet, humid, dusty, gaseous, and possibly toxic or caustic materials. Intermittent electrical shock and vibration risk. Moderate to loud noise level. Must work during emergencies and may be required to work weekends/holidays.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Corrective Maintenance & Repairs (50%)

– Perform repairs of lighting, plumbing, HVAC, medical equipment, and building systems; document services, time, cost; communicate status to customers.

Preventative Maintenance (40%)

– Conduct scheduled maintenance on HVAC, medical devices, safety systems, and other equipment; document and report progress.

Maintenance Projects (10%)

– Assist with electrical, plumbing, and equipment installations; document, cost, and communicate outcomes.

Perform other job duties as required.
