Job Summary Responsible for accomplishing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance on various equipment and systems. Create a successful customer service relationship. Performs a variety of duties, related to all maintenance disciplines including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire alarm, pneumatic tube, all central energy plant equipment, carpentry, and other responsibilities as assigned. Provides in-depth knowledge and trouble shooting skills on the above maintenance disciplines. Assists and trains other staff members with maintenance repairs and preventive maintenance procedures. Responsible for the progress of assigned job(s) under minimal supervision. Assists in the development, scheduling and assignment of the PM program.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

GED within 6 months of hire; High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of three years of experience in the maintenance field; preferred experience in a Health Care Environment.

Licensure/Certification:

Current valid South Carolina Driver’s License.

Knowledge/Skills:

Proficient with hand and power tools; in‑depth maintenance discipline knowledge; healthcare HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and physical plant equipment experience; computer proficiency for work orders and preventative maintenance software.

Other:

Vehicle operation required; must be insurable under the Roper St. Francis Healthcare vehicle insurance plan; driving record verified.

Work Demands/Environment Heavy physical effort (lifting, moving, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 60 lb); constant standing, walking, reaching, and use of hand dexterity; exposure to wet, humid, dusty, chemical, vibration, electrical shock, and noise environments; may require overtime, weekends, and emergency situations.
