Responsibilities:
We are representing a general contractor actively hiring a Project Engineer for commercial construction projects across California and Arizona. This is a strong opportunity for someone with 3-5 years of experience to grow their career in a collaborative, development-focused environment. While commercial experience is preferred, prior work on healthcare, DSA, or education projects is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Support Project Managers and Superintendents with daily project coordination
- Draft and manage RFIs, submittals, and change events including tracking cost/schedule impacts
- Review drawings, assist with permitting, and maintain as-built documentation
- Perform quantity take-offs and support cost estimation efforts
- Communicate with clients, architects, consultants, and internal departments
- Organize and update project logs, including punch lists and document revisions
- Attend and document meetings, prepare minutes, and track action items
- Help manage monthly billings, bid packages, and project schedules
- Notify project team and subcontractors of changes in construction timelines
- Follow company file procedures and support closeout documentation collection
- 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specs, and project documents
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, or structural)
- Proficient in Bluebeam, Procore, and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites
- U.S. work authorization
- Commercial project experience
- Prior experience with healthcare, DSA, or school construction
- EIT certification
- Spanish or multilingual skills
