Position Announcement The Center for Social Impact is seeking dedicated and creative
Exhibit Design Associates
to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine design thinking, data storytelling, and social advocacy by creating innovative, interactive exhibits that illuminate pressing social issues and complex systems.
As a SIMLab Exhibit Design Associate, you will help develop on-campus exhibits that engage audiences through compelling data visualization, narrative, and participation. Your work will spark dialogue and inspire action by making invisible social problems visible and tangible.
Associates contribute to and enhance existing exhibits-such as The Clothesline Project, which amplifies survivors' voices, and The Scarcity Myth, which challenges assumptions about resources and poverty. You will also research, propose, and prototype new exhibits to highlight additional social issues, bringing fresh ideas and creative approaches to the team.
Ideal candidates are collaborative, innovative, and passionate about social impact. Skills or interests in design, communication, research, or social justice are a plus, but are NOT required.
This role offers hands-on experience in systems thinking, public engagement, and creative advocacy.
Summary of Responsibilities
Develop engaging on-campus exhibits employing data visualization, narrative and interactive participation. Assist in executing designs for Center events and programs. Effectively communicate the mission and values of the Center for Social Impact. Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Must be a current UVU student. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to manage electronic files. Preferred Skills
Experience in design and/or exhibit design. Capacity to work collaboratively with others.
