About This Role:
As the
Administrative Specialist , you'll play a key role in supporting the Branch Manager and library staff by managing the daily operations that keep our building running smoothly. This is a dynamic position that requires critical thinking, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.
You'll be responsible for handling budgets and financial paperwork, ordering supplies, coordinating meeting room reservations, and maintaining organized digital records. You'll also update voicemail messages, submit maintenance requests, and work closely with custodial staff to ensure the building remains safe, clean, and welcoming. Additionally, you'll manage inventory and compile monthly statistics to support overall branch operations.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 2 years of administrative support experience.
Preferences: At least 2 years of administrative experience, preferably in government or public service Experience with maintaining budgets and placing supply orders Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital file systems Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Strong organizational and time management skills Experience providing customer service to the public. Special Requirements:
The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule:
This is a non-exempt, 20-hour per week position. Scheduled hours will fall within Monday - Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Typical weekly schedules include four five-hour shifts
