This Organizational Effectiveness and Classification Consultant will serve as a classification analyst within the Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Job duties of this position include:
Conducting classification reviews that may result in reallocations, in-range adjustments, or career progressions Providing strategic guidance to management on staffing, organizational structure, workforce leveling, and job classification decisions to align with agency goals Making data-driven recommendations to optimize workforce planning and staffing decisions Leading / assisting in large-scale classification studies by evaluating job structures across DPS Developing and implementing new classifications to meet evolving workforce needs, conducting job audits, market research, and benchmarking studies Providing guidance on career pathing and supporting the development of classification frameworks that align with industry and agency standards Participating in organizational effectiveness initiatives, including workforce planning, job design, and special projects aimed at optimizing talent strategy and operational efficiency Collaborating with leadership to assess workforce needs, identify skill gaps, and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and organizational sustainability
This position requires the ability to:
Maintain and apply a thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management, federal and state HR laws, policies, and best practices governing human resources work Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Express ideas clearly and concisely Exercise good judgment in analyzing situations and making recommendations and/or decisions within the delegated level of authority This position reports to the Organizational Effectiveness Manager who leads Classification, Workforce Planning and Development, Organizational Assessment and restructuring, and project management of initiatives.
