AWS-JAVA Technical Lead
Initial Duration:
6 month Contract to Hire Location:
ONSITE Hybrid > Hartford CT or Charlotte, NC preferred (OPEN TO REMOTE)
Responsibilities / Job Description: Hands-on experience with Java and J2EE technologies, such as, Java Web Services, JMS, JSP, XML, JSON, JDBC etc . Experience with Web Services (SOAP and Rest). Writing and using scalable and secure API's mazon Web Services (AWS ) usage includes but not limited to
Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, AWSBatch, AWSDirectory
. Use DevOps and CI/CD tools. Develops Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation templates, YAML files, build specifications, and Lambda functions to have a completely automated build and release process for all AWS resource infrastructure and code artifacts.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Math, or any Engineering. wareness of full software development life cycle practices and the ability to follow source code management, code quality and testing practices. 5-10 years of hands-on experience in application software solution development and execution. Software development knowledge using AWS resources like Lambda, CloudWatch, ECS, EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, SNS, SQS, EventBridge is preferred . 5-10 years of hands-on experience with Java and J2EE technologies, such as, Java Web Services, JMS, XML, JSON , JDBC etc. Along with experience in creating Web Service (SOAP and Rest) using Java Spring boot. Understanding of Batch and MQ. 3+ years of systems design experience along with continuous integration and DevOps methodologies. Experience using GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, uDeploy , Rally, checkmarx etc or AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy and AWS CodeStar. IaC (Infrastructure as Code) experience, like CloudFormation or Terraform. Experience with one or more relational database technologies such as Postgres or Oracle. Familiar with Agile methodology. Experience working in an Agile or SAFe development environment. Proven ability to work with cross functional teams. Possess analytical, problem solving and communication skills. Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization and influence leadership.
KEY REQUIRED SKILLS:
Prefer Event model experience They use CloudFormation and Terraform on cloud templates Must have 3+ years in a LEAD role (
Tech Lead role not managing tasks but 100% hands-on team go-to resource) Those with Insurance or Group Benefits (even if it is healthcare) will make the top interview list This team works with case management and case activation in Group Benefits at Insurance which interacts with the Policy Administration system This role needs to have experience in both Java and AWS. We will be standing up new AWS infrastructure and APIs to service our GB policy admin system. This is a multi-year program. What type of development will this contractor be doing? (Back end, front end, full stack?) and what will they be responsible for developing? -
Mostly back end What type of application will they be developing? Will this contractor primarily be working on new development or maintaining the current environment? - New development for our GB policy admin application Will this contractor be testing the application/software they are developing?
-Yes. All our engineers are expected to do some level of automation testing
