Job Purpose
FAC Services is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer to take a pivotal role in the transition to a hybrid Azure environment. This role involves developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, collaborating on DevOps processes and automation, supporting security initiatives and compliance, and designing and managing robust cloud network solutions. The candidate will leverage their expertise in Azure services, IaC tools, and DevOps practices to enhance FAC's cloud infrastructure. Additionally, they will foster a collaborative team environment, provide leadership and mentoring, and conduct training sessions to elevate team skills and knowledge.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Cloud Network Engineer will oversee the transition to a hybrid Azure environment, develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, collaborate on DevOps processes and automation, support security initiatives and compliance, and design and manage cloud network solutions.
Plan and execute the migration of servers to Azure.
Ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
Create and manage IaC solutions using tools like Terraform, Ansible and ARM templates.
Design, develop and deploy modular cloud based systems.
Maintain and update IaC documentation and scripts.
Automation and DevOps:
Collaborate on Infrastructure DevOps processes and automate workflows and enhance deployment strategies in an Azure DevOps (ADO) environment.
Familiarity with programming languages like Python, PowerShell, and Power Automate for automation tasks
Microsoft Ecosystem:
Understanding core cloud computing concepts like IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS and integration architectures is essential
Familiarity with core Azure services such as Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, and Azure Networking is crucial. Knowledge of Azure architecture helps in designing scalable and secure cloud solutions
Cloud Network Solutions:
Strong understanding of Azure networking components like Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, and VPN Gateways.
Monitor and troubleshoot network issues to ensure reliability.
Proficiency in monitoring tools like Azure Monitor and Application Insights to ensure optimal performance and quick issue resolution.
Leadership and mentoring
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
Lead by example, demonstrating best practices and continuous improvement.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance team skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with a focus on Azure environments.
Proficiency in Azure services, IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, ARM templates), and DevOps practices.
Understanding of security protocols and best practices in cloud environments.
Experience in designing and managing cloud network solutions.
Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Experience with Microsoft Defender, Purview, Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, Azure Logic Apps, Entra, Azure Security Center a plus.
