Civil Design Engineer (Land Development / Stormwater)
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil Design Engineer with strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design tools to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in land development projects, with a solid background in stormwater management, stormwater drainage, and erosion and sediment control, including hydrology and hydraulics (H&H) analysis. Duties/Responsibilities:
Design and prepare site development plans using Civil 3D, including grading, utility layouts, and stormwater systems. Develop stormwater management and drainage designs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and calculations for stormwater conveyance systems. Create and review erosion and sediment control plans. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, clients, and permitting agencies. Assist with preparing construction documents, specifications, cost estimates, and permitting submittals. Conduct site assessments and collaborate with field teams as needed. Support project managers in delivering quality design documents on time and within budget. Required Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field PE or EIT License preferred Prefer at least EIT and 3+ yrs of Civil Land Development experience Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required. Experience with stormwater modeling software such as HydroCAD, StormCAD, HEC-RAS, or similar. Strong understanding of local stormwater and environmental regulations. Familiarity with GIS, MicroStation, or other design and mapping tools. Experience working with public and private sector land development clients. Knowledge of permitting processes and jurisdictional requirements Especially within Northern Virginia
