(M5) $123,000 - $160,380.00 This position is responsible for the engineering, planning, design, and implementation of the district’s electric distribution and sub-transmission systems. These duties are essential for maintaining the district's infrastructure and meeting future system demands. Essential Job Functions Prepare engineering work orders for the district’s electric system. Collaborate with customers and Operations personnel to design facilities for new and expanding loads. Coordinate with district suppliers and wholesalers for electrical service. Analyze system loading for distribution, substation, and transmission. Assist in planning and rate analysis studies. Provide cost estimates for new facilities. Plan system additions and contribute to long-term construction planning. Design PV systems and perform engineering calculations. Manage projects, including SCADA system implementation, integration, operation, and maintenance. Apply engineering principles in designing overhead and underground distribution systems. Ensure compliance with the National Electric Code and National Electrical Safety Code. Design and layout electrical distribution systems, including expansion projects. Develop and distribute construction standards and engineering support. Maintain maps and official records for the district. Prepare material requisitions and evaluate bids. Coordinate construction activities with government agencies. Secure permits, waivers, and contracts as needed. Monitor expenditures against budgets. Prepare work orders and conduct system planning studies. Recommend system protection measures to ensure reliability. Perform inspections and assess facility conditions. Must be able to drive and traverse varied terrains for inspections. Draw sketches of electrical structures and maps. Attend Board meetings as required. Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Registered Professional Engineer license.
