Job Title: COBOL Mainframe Programmer V
Duration:
10+ Month Contract (with possibility of extensions)
Note:
Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to starting the role at their own expense. Local candidates preferred. This position is currently remote. However, position status is subject to change. (90% remote 10% onsite as needed) Onsite work is not likely, but candidate should be prepared to come onsite if required.
The candidate will be required to provide their own equipment for this position.
MUST provide three (3) business references for the interview. (One reference must be a supervisory level.)

Job Description:
This developer position will provide application development and support for client s mainframe applications. This developer will work as part of a team to develop and enhance mainframe applications using technologies such as COBOL and DB2 databases to implement maintenance & enhancement mainframe functionality. The Cobol Mainframe Programmer will work on high profile mainframe application projects. The incumbent will maintain and develop online and batch application programs by reviewing, analyzing, coding, testing and debugging application code. They will develop specifications, diagrams, flowcharts and documentation. The CMP will analyze and develop programs using COBOL, DB2, VSAM, and JCL for the new enhancements. The CMP will implement application changes, enhancements and new applications and provide post implementation support. This position requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 8-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. While this position will typically report to a project leader or manager, there will be an expectation of self-direction. Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with TANF or large Health and Human Services systems. Preference will be given to candidates who also have experience in C#.NET, XML, API, SQL Server, Visual Studio, and Angular. The candidate should have strong communication skills and should be a team player.
