How you will make an impact:
Opensignal is seeking a quantitative, critical thinker with an insatiable curiosity to join the Data Operations team as a Principal Data Analyst under our GeoResults Product.
The Data Operations team is a critical component of Opensignal. They ensure our data is validated, the platform is working correctly and they explore opportunities to leverage new data sets to improve and create new products.
The Principal Data Analyst will provide hands-on experience in designing and developing, and managing data workflows using Alteryx to automate data preparation, blending, and analysis. While also mentoring a team to extend skills and proficiency in alteryx, improving current jobs, and simplifying the current environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Including, but not limited to: Designing and developing Alteryx workflows: This includes creating ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows, using various Alteryx tools and functionalities to manipulate and transform data. Data integration and preparation: Working with diverse data sources, including databases, APIs, and files, to extract, cleanse, and prepare data for analysis. Automating data processes: Developing automated workflows to streamline data preparation, reporting, and other data-related tasks. Optimizing workflow performance: Ensuring workflows are efficient and scalable, utilizing Alteryx Server for scheduling and monitoring. Collaborating with stakeholders: Working with business users to understand data requirements, translate business logic into Alteryx workflows, and communicate findings. Troubleshooting and support: Identifying and resolving issues with Alteryx workflows, providing support to users, and ensuring application stability. Documentation and knowledge sharing: Documenting Alteryx workflows, creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and sharing knowledge with team members. Data analysis and visualization: Analyzing data using Alteryx, potentially using tools like Power BI or Tableau to create visualizations and communicate insights. Provide day-to-day leadership, support, and direction to the GeoResults Product team members, ensuring clarity of objectives and delivery of individual and team performance targets. Conduct regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and development planning to support employee growth, motivation, and accountability. Manage team absence, conduct, and wellbeing in line with company policies, promoting a positive and inclusive working environment. Knowledge & Skill:
4-5 years of work experience (or comparable educational experience) in quantitative analysis Proficiency in Alteryx Designer and Server: Expertise in using Alteryx tools for data manipulation, workflow development, and automation. Strong SQL skills: Ability to write complex SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation. Understanding of data warehousing and database technologies: Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and database concepts. Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze complex datasets, identify patterns, and develop solutions. Communication and collaboration skills: Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Team management experience Desired Skills & Abilities
Experience with other BI tools (like Tableau or Power BI) is often preferred. Knowledge of scripting languages (like Python) is a plus. About Us
