Physician - Part-Time Gynecologist (8 Hours Per Week) (Redding)

Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, including award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years), is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing may be referred and tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. VA-employed physicians who met the requirements at initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements.
- U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens only if recruitment of qualified citizens is not possible
- Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an approved school
- Current full and unrestricted license to practice in the U.S.
- Completion of residency training approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification
- Residents enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited programs are eligible as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and appointed on an intermittent or fee basis, and are not considered independent practitioners
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Physical requirements: visual acuity, hearing, speech, manual dexterity, ability to perform CPR, and other physical demands
Duties
- This is an open continuous announcement until August 11, 2025, with initial referral cut-off on June 17, 2023, and subsequent cut-offs every 5 days

- Participate in clinical and administrative duties, including ER call, documentation, quality assurance, and committee participation
