As a vital part of our surgical team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality patient care during various surgical procedures, including cardiac surgeries such as coronary artery bypass and valve replacements, as well as other specialties such as neuro, vascular, and orthopedic surgeries. Key Responsibilities: - Assist the surgical team by managing instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures.- Understand and anticipate the needs of the surgeon, providing support in both first and second scrub roles.- Maintain the sterile field and ensure quality patient care throughout the surgical process.- Perform tasks such as sponging, suctioning, cutting sutures, holding retractors, and manipulating the endoscopic camera.- Collaborate with the surgical team in a level 1 trauma setting with a comprehensive heart program. Qualifications: - Graduate from an accredited school of Surgical Technology.- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) is required.- Minimum of two years of experience in a similar facility, handling cardiac surgeries and other related specialties.- Competency in performing as a lead in robotic, total joints, neuro/spine, burn, and vascular surgery.- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Patient Care Environment: - Work within a 15 OR bed unit with a 1:1 patient ratio.- Respond to on-call requirements, including night and weekend shifts as needed.- Floating to the main OR may be required when there are no CVOR cases.
