Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative
(PSR I) plays a critical role in both the
technical
and
customer-facing
aspects of outpatient diagnostic services. You will be responsible for drawing blood specimens, supporting specimen processing, and maintaining a safe, professional environment while building trust with patients throughout their visit.
Key Responsibilities:
Draw and prepare blood samples for lab testing in accordance with established protocols Ensure patient comfort and confidence while explaining procedures clearly Maintain required records and case documentation accurately Comply with all safety and confidentiality standards (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA) Support collection from pediatric and geriatric populations Perform specimen labeling, verification, and preparation for lab processing Maintain cleanliness and organization in the collection space Remain flexible for staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, and on-call support Required Experience:
Minimum of 6 months phlebotomy experience required 1+ year of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric, preferred Prior experience in data entry or use of EMR systems Nice-to-Have Experience:
Customer service experience in retail, healthcare, or lab environments Prior exposure to high-volume specimen collection settings Experience working independently with limited on-site supervision Required Skills:
Phlebotomy Technique
- Demonstrated skill in venipuncture, capillary, and pediatric draws Customer Focus
- Clear communication and empathetic patient interaction Accuracy & Confidentiality
- Ability to follow data privacy and medical safety standards Preferred Skills:
Medical assistant or paramedic training Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in some states) Familiarity with diagnostic or EMR software systems Flexibility to rotate shifts, including weekends and holidays Strong documentation and verification habits Additional Skills:
Lobby control Clinical and forensic specimen handling Organizational commitment Working knowledge of internal lab policies and SOPs Benefits:
