HDR seeks an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our national Power Generation team. The role involves leading the project mechanical team, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, monitoring and communicating project status, and providing mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects on both technical and contractual levels. Deliverables typically include construction drawings, bid specifications, mechanical equipment sizing calculations, technical memos, bid evaluations, code reviews, feasibility studies, reports, and cost estimates. Preferred experience includes power generation systems for simple cycle, combined cycle, distributed generation, and RICE projects. Responsibilities

Lead the project mechanical team and coordinate with other engineering disciplines. Monitor and communicate project status; provide mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects. Develop and review deliverables such as construction drawings, bid specifications, sizing calculations, memos, bid evaluations, code reviews, and feasibility studies. Assist in feasibility studies, reports, and cost estimates for power generation projects (simple cycle, combined cycle, distributed generation, and RICE). Preferred Qualifications

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation design. Gas turbine, steam turbine and/or large reciprocating engine experience. Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation. Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm. Minimum 10 years of experience in the fossil power industry with a blend of design and owner’s engineer projects. Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments and strong communication and analytical skills. Willing to mentor less experienced engineers and EITs. Proficient at working within an established schedule and budget. Travel expected to be less than 10% for meetings with clients and vendors and project site visits. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Minimum of 10 years of experience. Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license. Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector. Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit). Active participation in an employee-owned culture. The targeted salary range for this position (based on experience and location) is $108,661 - $204,250. Job Details
