Alterations Specialists are responsible for completing all fittings and alterations to the high standards of David’s Bridal and report to the Store Manager. They are expected to provide friendly, knowledgeable, and technical expertise and deliver superior customer service. Alterations Specialists are members of the store team and represent the David’s Bridal brand.

Essential Job Functions

Welcome all customers with genuine, friendly enthusiasm over the phone, via virtual chats and in person; communicate clearly, adapt style to suit customers; problem solve, demonstrate excellent phone skills and resolve conflicts.

Use store systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five-star customer experience.

Maintain service levels by being Prepared, Welcoming, Meeting needs, and supporting customers with operational tasks and emotional and practical needs.

Provide exceptional service to multiple customers at once and contribute to the store’s Five-Star Customer Service goals.

Proactively address customer concerns with confidence; escalate as needed and partner with leadership.

Explain how alterations contribute to the overall dress for events in partnership with Alterations; promote alteration services and personalization options.

Assist stylists in closing sales by advising on gown fit and customization.

Maintain store standards to support a flawless shopping experience and comply with the Dress Code Policy.

Greet and escort alterations customers to and from appointments.

Inspect garments altered/steamed/pressed to ensure pristine condition before delivery.

Respond promptly to customer questions with product and service information.

Build long-term relationships with customers to meet and exceed satisfaction and loyalty goals.

Assist with inventory management and ensure first-quality standards for merchandise.

Ensure alteration pricing aligns with company standards.

Manage alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning to company standards.

Resolve customer service issues swiftly and according to company guidelines.

Support cash wrap processes and handle transactions accurately to ensure a celebratory customer experience.

Maintain an orderly alterations room that is clean and well-organized.

Perform duties as assigned by store management.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

1-2 years of retail experience in apparel or a specialty store environment

Prior sewing experience required, preferably in bridal or special occasion production

Prior experience with a computerized POS system is a plus
