General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practices, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require.

Essential Functions

  • Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors on all tasks.
  • Maintain a safe, clutter-free sales floor with clear egress to emergency exits; report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; recognize fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
  • Assist Customers (register-trained), answer questions, greet Customers with eye contact and a friendly demeanor; thank Customers at checkout.
  • Provide prompt and courteous responses to Customer inquiries and service calls; escalate to Store Leadership as needed.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, restocking restrooms) to maintain store areas and merchandise presentation.
  • Maintain professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
  • Complete daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and merchandised to standards.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per monthly presentation guidelines.
  • Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguard confidential information, cash, and credit card information.
  • Follow MOS (Miss-Out-of-Stock) policies and notify Store Leadership for disposals when applicable.
  • Adhere to cash, check, charge, refunds, voids, and offline procedures; maintain accuracy with tenders.
  • Demonstrate urgency and maximize productivity by following Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills

  • Effective communication with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA

  • Ability to use store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop; lift up to 25 pounds (may vary by role).
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
  • Stockroom shifts may require lifting more than 20 pounds.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is $15.00 - $15.50 per hour, dependent on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, location, and other considerations. Benefits include Insurance programs, Associate Discounts, 401K, Employee Stock Purchase Program, and additional leave and wellness benefits as applicable to full-time associates.
