The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience and for maintaining merchandise presentation and store standards in support of customer service and operational goals.

General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow associates with respect, follows company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be asked to perform additional tasks as needed to support customer service and store operations.

Essential Functions

  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
  • Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; maintains clear egress to emergency exits and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treats all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times.
  • Assists customers—register-trained, assists with merchandise, and answers questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner; greets customers and thanks them at each transaction.
  • Provides prompt and efficient responses to customers; responds to service requests immediately and escalates to Store Leadership as needed.
  • Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks and replenishes supplies to maintain a clean and presentable store and restrooms.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the dress code.
  • Performs daily sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
  • Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor per guidelines and maintains brand name familiarity within departments to assist customers.
  • Understands Loss Prevention concepts and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguards confidential information, cash and credit card information, and merchandise.
  • Follows MOS policies, processes disposals with Store Leadership review, and handles transactions according to company procedures.
  • Demonstrates urgency to perform duties efficiently and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

  • Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA

  • Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of the working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop; occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
  • Stockroom shifts may require regularly pushing, pulling and lifting more than 20 pounds.

The base pay range for this role is $15.00 - $15.50 hourly. Pay is a component of total compensation and varies by experience and location. Benefits include insurance programs, Associate discounts, retirement plans, and other programs as described by the company.
