The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows all company best practice standards as outlined in all work centers, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may be assigned to perform various tasks across store areas as business needs require.
Essential Functions
- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything they do.
- Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment. Maintains clear egress to emergency exits and reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treats all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; is friendly and professional at all times.
- Assists Customers in any way necessary - is register-trained, assists with merchandise, answers questions politely and knowledgeably; greets Customers with eye contact, smiles, and “hello” throughout the Store and says “thank you” at checkout.
- Provides prompt and efficient responses to Customers; responds to Customer Service calls immediately and escalates to Store Leadership when needed.
- Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
- Performs cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors) and replenishes restroom supplies to maintain a clean environment.
- Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company's dress code.
- Performs daily sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, organized store and effective merchandising to standards.
- Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandises items per guidelines, and maintains brand-name familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
- Understands Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguards confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
- Follows MOS policies and processes for identification, disposal and notification to Store Leadership as needed.
- Follows policies concerning cash, checks, credit cards, refunds, and offline procedures; maintains accuracy with bankable tenders.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/Ada
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and POS systems as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
- Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
- For Stockroom shifts: ability to push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds regularly.
