Overview

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate engages with Customers, maintains a clean work area, follows company standards, and supports merchandise presentation. The role may involve performing a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require.

Essential Functions

  • Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors in all duties.
  • Maintain awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greet Customers and assist with merchandise; be register-trained and handle transactions accurately.
  • Provide prompt, courteous responses to Customer inquiries and service calls; involve Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a neat store and well-maintained merchandise areas.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and comply with the dress code.
  • Perform daily sizing and recovery per company best practices to maintain an organized store.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandise items per guidelines, and assist Customers with brand-name familiarity within departments.
  • Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise; follow MOS policies and proper disposal procedures as needed.
  • Handle cash, check, credit card, and refund transactions with accuracy and integrity.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, cooperative manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use Store equipment, stand/walk for extended periods, and move around the Store.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, and assist with stock as needed; may require lifting more than 25 pounds.
  • Associates working Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
