Responsibilities

• Ensure customers have a positive shopping experience: greet, make eye contact, and provide courteous, friendly service.
• Maintain a clean work area and proper merchandise presentation; follow company best practices across work centers.
• Engage in tasks across store operations as assigned and adapt to business needs.
• Provide prompt and efficient responses to customers; handle issues courteously and involve Store Leadership when needed.
• Represent and support the Ross brand at all times; safeguard confidential information and assets.
• Assist with merchandise receiving, placement on the sales floor, and ensuring loss prevention standards are understood and followed.
• Follow cash, check, and card handling procedures with accuracy and safety; maintain urgency to maximize productivity.

Essential Functions

• Maintain safety as the number one priority and keep the sales floor safe and secure, reporting unsafe conditions.
• Assist customers with merchandise and answer questions in a knowledgeable manner.
• Perform cleaning tasks and daily maintenance to keep the store neat and organized.
• Adhere to dress code and professional appearance standards.
• Support MOS policies and dispositions as needed; assist with ongoing store presentation and inventory readiness.
• Demonstrate integrity in interactions with Associates and Customers and protect confidential information.
• Support loss prevention and store protection programs as applicable.

Qualifications and Skills

• Effective communication with customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use store equipment and stand/walk for long periods; ability to bend, squat, reach, and lift up to 25 pounds (some roles may involve heavier lifting).
