General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers, maintains a clean work area, ensures proper merchandise presentation, and supports a range of tasks across store areas as business needs require.

Essential Functions

  • Safety is the number one priority; maintain awareness to create a safe shopping environment and promptly address unsafe conditions
  • Maintain a clutter-free sales floor and clear egress; report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership
  • Treat customers and associates with respect; greet customers and assist with merchandise and questions
  • Assist customers at the register and with merchandise; respond promptly to Customer Service calls
  • Represent and support the company brand at all times
  • Perform cleaning tasks and replenish supplies to maintain store areas and restrooms
  • Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code
  • Perform daily sizing and recovery to ensure neat, clean, and organized stores
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor per guidelines and assist customers with brand familiarity
  • Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards
  • Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise
  • Follow MOS policies and cash handling procedures; maintain accuracy with bankable tenders
  • Demonstrate urgency to maximize productivity and follow store best practices

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

  • Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments

Physical Requirements/Ada

  • Ability to use store equipment (PDTs, registers, PC) as required
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment and ladders; some assignments may require other qualifications
  • Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds
