General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets Customers courteously, maintains a clean work area, ensures proper merchandise presentation, and follows company best practices. The Associate will perform a range of functions in all areas of the store as business needs require and may be asked to perform additional tasks to achieve customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Understand that safety is the highest priority and practice safe behaviors in all duties.
• Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment, keep egress clear, and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
• Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; recognize fellow Associates using company programs.
• Assist Customers by being register-trained, helping with merchandise, answering questions, and greeting Customers with eye contact, a smile, and polite interactions.
• Provide prompt and courteous responses to Customer inquiries and service calls; escalate to Store Leadership when needed.
• Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks and replenish supplies to maintain a neat, clean store and well-maintained areas.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company dress code.
• Execute daily sizing and recovery to ensure a neat and organized store per standards; expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor following presentation guidelines.
• Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards applicable to the role.
• Demonstrate integrity, safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
• Follow MOS policies and proper processing and disposal review by Store Leadership when needed.
• Adhere to policies regarding cash, checks, cards, refunds, and transaction procedures; maintain accuracy with tenders.
• Demonstrate urgency to maximize productivity and align with Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

• Effective communication with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA

Ability to use all store equipment (PDTs, registers, PC) as required. Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time. Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Ability to push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is $17.00 – $17.50 per hour. Other rewards vary by position and location. Benefits offered to all Associates include various insurance programs, Associate Discount, 401K, and other programs. Eligibility for extended benefits and bonuses applies to specified roles and locations.
