General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets Customers, follows company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The role encompasses a range of tasks across store areas as business needs require, with additional duties assigned as needed to meet customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Safety is the top priority; maintain a safe shopping environment and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Maintain awareness on the sales floor to ensure a safe, secure environment; keep egress clear and report hazards.
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; participate in Company recognition programs.
- Assist Customers: register-trained, help with merchandise, answer questions politely and knowledgeably; greet Customers throughout the store.
- Provide prompt customer service; respond to service calls, resolve issues courteously, escalate to Store Leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks and replenish supplies to maintain stores to standards.
- Maintain professional appearance and comply with dress code.
- Perform daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, organized, and merchandised to standards.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise according to guidelines; maintain brand familiarity within departments to assist Customers.
- Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrate integrity and safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
- Follow MOS policies and proper processing of disposals and notify Store Leadership for approvals.
- Follow policies on cash, checks, cards and refunds; maintain accuracy in handling tenders.
- Demonstrate urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Effective communication with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other supplies.
- Stockroom shifts may require lifting up to 20 pounds.
