Responsibilities

• The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience, including greeting customers and maintaining a courteous, friendly manner.
• Follow company best practices, maintain a clean work area, and ensure proper merchandise presentation.
• Engage in assigned tasks across store areas as business needs require and perform additional tasks to help achieve customer service and operational goals.
• Maintain safety on the sales floor, create a safe and secure shopping environment, and promptly report unsafe conditions.
• Assist customers with merchandise, operate registers, answer questions in a knowledgeable manner, and process transactions accurately.
• Represent and support the company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks to maintain merchandise, customer, and team areas, and adhere to the dress code.
• Execute daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and well-merchandised to standards.
• Stock and expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor following monthly presentation guidelines and brand-name familiarity within departments.
• Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
• Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
• Follow MOS policies and handling of disposals; follow cash handling procedures and maintain accuracy with tenders.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications

• Effective communication with customers, associates and store leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to use store equipment, stay in a standing/walking position for extended periods, and lift up to 25 pounds (some roles may require more).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
• Ability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, stoop, and lift up to 25 pounds (some roles may require more for stockroom).
