General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. Tasks include greeting customers, following company standards, maintaining a clean work area, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and performing a range of store duties as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Safety is the number one priority; maintain awareness to create a safe and secure shopping environment.
  • Keep the sales floor clutter-free with clear egress to emergency exits; report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
  • Treat customers and associates with respect and courtesy; participate in recognition programs.
  • Assist Customers: register-trained, help with merchandise, answer questions politely and knowledgeably; greet customers with eye contact and a smile; say thank you during transactions.
  • Provide prompt responses to Customer Service calls; resolve issues courteously and escalate to Store Leadership when needed.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks and replenish supplies to maintain merchandise, customer, and Team areas.
  • Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
  • Conduct daily sizing and recovery to ensure a neat, clean, organized store
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per presentation guidelines.
  • Follow Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
  • Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
  • Follow MOS policies and processing procedures for disposals and appropriate notification of leadership.
  • Handle cash, checks, charge cards, refunds, voids, and offline transactions with accuracy and awareness.
  • Demonstrate urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

  • Effective communication with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA

  • Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
  • Standing, walking, and moving around the Store up to 100% of the time.
  • Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, carrying, reaching, and stooping.
  • Occasionally pushing, pulling and lifting more than 25 pounds.
  • Use of janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
  • Stockroom shifts may require regular pushing/pulling/lifting more than 20 pounds.

The base pay range for this role is $16.50 - $17.00 per hour. The base pay range depends on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location.
