Responsibilities / Essential Functions
- Ensure customers have a positive shopping experience: greet customers, maintain eye contact, smile, and be courteous and professional at all times.
- Follow store best practices, maintain a clean work area, and ensure proper merchandise presentation.
- Engage in tasks across store areas as needed to meet customer service and operational goals.
- Safety is the top priority: maintain a safe, clutter-free sales floor and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Assist customers in merchandise questions, operate registers, and respond promptly to customer service calls.
- Represent and support the Ross brand at all times; safeguard confidential information and merchandise.
- Perform cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, dusting, disinfecting high-touch areas) and restock/restroom maintenance as needed.
- Adhere to dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
- Execute store layouts and daily tasks to ensure neat, clean, and organized presentation according to guidelines.
- Process newly received merchandise and expedite to the sales floor per monthly presentation guidelines.
- Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Follow MOS policies, cash handling procedures, and minimize steps in workflows to maximize productivity.

Qualifications and Special Skills
- Effective communication with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Ability to use store equipment (PDTs, registers) as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop; lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Stockroom shifts may require pushing/pulling and lifting more than 20 pounds.
