Senior Cloud Solution Architect
to join our Federal organization. Responsibilities Operates according to required operational excellence and proven practice standards throughout all sales stages/activities/tools of record (e.g., pipeline updates, time tracking). Collaborates across Microsoft and customer/partner teams through on-strategy delivery to achieve customer/partner objectives and increase satisfaction. Proactively manages business and technical risks, adapts methodology and applies governance principles to identify, communicate, and minimize risks. Executes work in compliance with industry and Microsoft guidelines and procedures. Continuously prioritizes among competing demands to align with business priorities and goals. Delivers solutions in line with company methodologies (e.g., value-based deliverables, advice, training, technical validation) to prepare customers for operational readiness and achievement of business goals. Leverages change management practices to help customers deploy for long-term organizational adoption and increased satisfaction and usage. Guides customers/partners toward a well-architected, secure, resilient, AI-enabled, and cost/performance-optimized solution to increase retention and expansion opportunities. Provides feedback to Unified Delivery Team on VBDs to refine content. Identifies new opportunities for Consumption, Usage & Unified expansion at scale based on business value and Microsoft value proposition; maps customer needs to appropriate architectures/solutions. Identifies and evaluates industry trends and maps existing solutions to business outcomes; captures opportunities in systems and tools in alignment with Microsofts Customer Engagement Model. Escalates and mitigates blockers to accelerate solution deployment and value realization; applies business, technical, and enterprise knowledge to meet requirements. Acts as the voice of the customer/partner, sharing insights with Engineering, Product Offerings, and internal communities; builds relationships with technical and business decision makers. Leads or participates in customer engagements to influence product roadmaps, prioritize bug fixes, and drive initiatives as appropriate. Defines customer/partner conditions of success and anticipates dissatisfaction to improve experience and value realization. Partner Specialization Identifies and prioritizes opportunities aligned with revenue goals and orchestrates growth of solution utilization with partners. Supports partners and sales teams with clarity on opportunities through proof of concept and pre-sales support. Guides partners in developing repeatable offerings and solutions; advises during initial customer implementations. Technical Leadership Uses market insights to drive up-skilling and accreditation; acts as a mentor for readiness and technical knowledge within the team. Identifies gaps in delivery and communicates them to stakeholders to drive product, IP, or process improvements. Contributes to Microsoft's structured frameworks and methodologies; provides thought leadership to customers/partners and internal communities. Leads virtual teams around technologies and challenges; participates in external events and contributes to IP development as appropriate. Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, or consulting (or equivalent). 4+ years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of cloud-based applications. Other Requirements Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements for this role. The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance. Clearance verification may be required prior to offer. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: Must pass upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Citizenship verification may be required due to citizenship-based restrictions for certain government engagements. Additional/Preferred Qualifications Technical breadth and depth in Data Platform Cloud solutions and data estate workloads, including AI (Azure Cognitive Services), Power Platform, SQL and NoSQL databases, data governance, and related tools. Enterprise-scale experience with cloud/hybrid infrastructures, security, resiliency, database migrations, and cloud technology management. Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI and/or open-source LLMs; knowledge of ML/AI services (Azure ML, ML Flow) and Big Data platforms (Synapse, Snowflake, Redshift, Spark); familiarity with Azure infrastructure and app development. Education: Advanced degree or certifications in cloud technologies preferred; professional cloud certifications in relevant technologies are beneficial. Experiences 4+ years in a customer-facing role and 4+ years on technical projects. Prior consulting/architecture experience in a software engineering or professional services company is desirable. Knowledge of Azure cloud services and competitive cloud offerings. Experience with partner ecosystems and leveraging partner solutions to solve customer needs. Compensation: The typical base pay range for this role in the U.S. is USD 106,400 203,600 per year; location-based adjustments may apply.
