General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform a range of tasks in all areas of the Store as business needs require and may be assigned additional tasks to achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Understand safety is the top priority and practice safe behaviors at all times.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect; be friendly and professional; recognize fellow Associates via company programs.
- Assist Customers as needed—register-trained, help with merchandise, answer questions politely and knowledgeably; greet Customers throughout the Store and thank them at checkout.
- Provide prompt, courteous responses to Customer inquiries; respond to service calls immediately and involve Store Leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a neat and presentable store area (sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitizing high-touch areas, replenishing restroom supplies).
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
- Perform daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat, clean, and organized per standards.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per monthly presentation guidelines.
- Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrate integrity and safeguard confidential information, cash and merchandise.
- Follow MOS policies for identification and processing of MOS merchandise and notify leadership for disposals.
- Follow cash/credit procedures, and maintain accuracy in handling tendered transactions.
- Demonstrate urgency and maximize productivity by following Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Ability to effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements/Ada
- Ability to use store equipment, including PDTs and registers as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other supplies.
- Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
