Job Overview Capron, IL 61012 Maintenance Technician 1st shift, Mon-Fri, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.$20.00/hour We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities maintenance and possess a diverse skill set that includes mechanical knowledge, electrical experience, and familiarity with programmable logic controllers. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities through proactive maintenance and repair tasks, while also providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure optimal functionality. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical systems, mechanical components, and programmable logic controllers. Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment to identify potential problems before they escalate. Utilize schematics to assist in diagnosing equipment failures and implementing effective solutions. Oversee welding tasks as needed for repairs or modifications to equipment or structures. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Provide leadership and supervision to junior maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. Assist with residential painting projects as required, ensuring high-quality finishes. Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or residents. Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to work on various types of equipment. Proficiency in electrical systems; experience with ohmmeters is preferred. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus. Previous welding experience is desirable for performing necessary repairs. Ability to read and interpret schematics effectively. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Experience in supervising or leading teams is advantageous. Customer service-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality work.
