CNC Machinist

Location: Oak Creek, WI Duties/Responsibilities

Exhibit advanced knowledge of machine shop practices, techniques, programming, machine operation, and tooling. Follow detailed parts drawings and specifications regarding applications, coding, and settings. Study drawings to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to machine parts. Program and/or modify computer programs. Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines. Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders. Note and report variations from specifications. Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process. Check work pieces to ensure that they are properly lubricated or cooled. Measure and examine completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers and calipers. Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations. Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition. Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability. Confer with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information. Technology Skills

Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds on a regular basis; lift 50# on occasion. Must have manual dexterity including bending, stooping, and reaching. Must have excellent hand-eye coordination. Safety glasses and steel toe shoes are required. Mathematics Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. Production and Processing Knowledge of machine processes and other techniques for maximizing efficiency during the machining of parts. Knowledge Knowledge of techniques, tools, and precision principles involved in the production of parts utilizing blueprints and/or drawings. Analytical Thinking The ability to analyze information using logic to address unexpected issues and problems. Rate Control The ability to time the movement of a piece of equipment in anticipation of changes in the speed and/or direction of a moving object. Attention to Detail The ability to be careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Dependability Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable.
