Overview

Cox Communications is looking for a Retail Sales Associate who creates exceptional customer experiences and drives sales while making customers feel valued. This role offers the potential to earn about $57,172 per year (27.49/hr) as part of a customer loyalty–driven team. The position involves following a retail routine that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, and reporting to the Store Manager with guidance from the Assistant Store Manager and other team Specialists.

What You'll Do

• Explain and demonstrate product capabilities and offer recommendations based on customer needs
• Meet or exceed targets for customer experience, sales, and retention
• Assist with opening/closing store operations
• Handle cash correctly
• Engage in workshops, special events, and product demos
• Support fellow sales agents as needed
• Continuously expand knowledge of Cox products and competitors through regular training
• May be required to work at other locations within the same geographic area

• Targeted total compensation around $57,172 ($27.49/hr), with top performers earning above $74,4559 annually ($35.80/hr). Compensation varies by location, experience, and sales targets. Includes a base pay of $19.00/hr plus monthly targeted commissions of $1,471. Ramp period of up to 2 months to adjust to commissions.

Who You Are

Minimum:

• HS diploma/GED or up to 2 years of relevant work experience
• Ability to meet established sales, retention, and customer experience targets
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a consultative, solutions-based approach
• Ability to build relationships and adapt to a diverse customer base
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, service-oriented team environment
• Mobility within the store to greet customers and demonstrate products
• Computer literacy and aptitude for learning Cox products and services
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Ability to lift 25-50 pounds to assist with stock room inventory

Preferred:

• Some college experience in sales, business, or management
• One year of experience in related fields (Sales, Retail, Service)
• Experience selling Wireless/Mobile products
• Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken)

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: Hourly pay rate is $17.88–$26.83/hour. The range may vary by location and experience. This role is eligible for an annual incentive/commission target of $17,652.00.

Benefits include a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off per month and seven paid holidays per year, plus additional leave options (bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer time off, military leave, parental leave).
